The main aim of the course is to reflect critically on the anti-mafia legislation, used by the Italian legislator to face one of the most serious crimes against the democratic order and social development of our country. At the end of the course the students will have acquired knowledge of the sociological, historical and legal aspects of the mafia phenomenon and will be able to identify the peculiar traits of Mafia-type criminal organizations.

Particular attention will also be given to the problem of mafia-political relations, through the study of the changes recently made to the case of political-mafia electoral exchange (art. 416 ter c.p.p.), and to the study of prevention measures, as regulated in the c.d. Anti-Mafia Code.

Frontal teaching. Frequency not obligatory but recommendedType of evaluation
Final oral exam: attending and non-attending students will have to answer at least one question posed orally on each part of the program, with reference to the recommended texts and lectures. Verification of learning takes place through an oral test evaluted with the minimum mark of 18 to a maximum mark of 30/30 with honors.
