Fruizione: 20810270-1 SISTEMI DI PRODUZIONE - MODULO I in Ingegneria meccanica per le risorse marine LM-33 SALINI PAOLO, CAPUTO ANTONIO CASIMIRO

Programme

Topics of the module include:
1.General scheme of plant utilities (main components, generator-accumulator systems, centralization vs decentralization of utilities, ;
2.Process parameters of plant utilities;
3.Utilities availability;
4.Plant and utilities design & building phases;
5.Piping systems design;
6.Vessel characteristics and design;
7.Compressed air production and distribution;
8.Thermal fluid utility and heat exchangers design;
The above topics will be specifically aimed at plant utilities, process plants and offshore Oil & Gas applications.

Core Documentation

Lecture notes provided by instructor and uploaded on Moodle web site.

Type of delivery of the course

Traditional classroom lecture. In case the need arises, possibility of streaming remotely lectures through Microsoft Teams platform. In academic year 2022/23 the course mutuates 6 Credits from Module 1 of the course Impianti offshore and Sistemi di Produzione taught at the Ostia Marine Engineering branch. The remaining 3 credits are taught at the Roma branch (Via della Vasca Navale).

Attendance

Attending classes is strongly suggested but is not compulsory. Lectures are in Italian.

Type of evaluation

Oral examination (usually three questions on topics covering the entire course program) which can be accompanied by numerical exercises. Students must show a full comprehension of plant utilities design approach and they must be able to summarize multidisciplinary competences necessary to design plant utilities. The exam will be considered passed only if the student demonstrates the ability in designing main plant utilities systems, proposing techno-economic optimized solutions and he/she is able to size main proposed system components.
