20750059-1 - Literature, history and politics in the Hispano-American space

Curriculum

teacher profile | teaching materials

Programme

The module examines the ways in which contemporary Argentine literature, within a broader Latin American framework, has engaged with the memory of political violence and the military dictatorship (1976–1983) from different generational and testimonial perspectives. Through texts that explore trauma, identity, postmemory, and transmission, the course approaches literature as a space of testimony and critical reflection, capable both of drawing on archives and of configuring itself as an archive. After an initial historical, cultural, and theoretical overview, the classes will focus on the close reading of the selected works and conclude with a reflection on the pedagogy of memory.
