NoneType of delivery of the course
The whole course consists in three parts. First part:frontal lesson at the blackboard and with the use of presentations/slides. If the COVID-19 emergency continues all the new rules for teaching and exams will be applied and in particular for the lesson they will be done online in real time with teams and the material will be put on moodle.Attendance
Attendance to the course is strongly advised but it is not compulsory in order to give to all students the possibility to give the exam.Type of evaluation
Written exam that consists in questions that the student has to answer. Each question will be on one of the three parts of the whole course. It will be evaluated the exactness of the answer, the level of understanding, and the clarity in the description in case an extended answer is required. If the COVID-19 emergency continues all the new rules for teaching and exams will be applied and in particular for the exams they will be done online with teams and they will be oral. The student will prepare a 10 minutes presentation and after it she/he will be asked two brief questions on the two other parts of the whole course. teacher profile teaching materials

Written test. Each question concerns one of the three sections of the Course. The correctness of the answers and the level of understanding as well as the clarity of exposition will be taken into account in the evaluation. teacher profile teaching materials
Program of the third part: Introduction to the physics of matter at the nanoscale.
Wave-particle dualism; electron confinement and quantization of electronic states; "Band Engineering" in semiconductor heterostructures; quantum structures for electronics and photonics. Bottom-up and top-down approaches to nanofabrication; visualization of nanostructured materials; Phenomenology of some nanostructured devices.
