Introducing the study of vision through the analysis of the structure and function of eye. Introduce students to the optical characteristics of the eye following the physiological optics principles. Analyze refraction phenomena such as ametropia and accommodation and their relationship with the quality of the retinal image, the ocular aberrations and basic visual functions. Introduce students to the basic instrumentation for refractive defects. Introduce the basic elements of visual perception and the relative theories.
