Programme

The course is meant to be an introduction to the history, culture and religion of ancient Egypt, from the birth of urban civilization and the emergence of writing to the encounter with the classical world.Part of the course will be devoted to the study of basic elements of Egyptian grammar and hieroglyphic reading.
